Hello. My name is Tony Harvey.
Like you I want to make the best of my life. Over the years I have had a lot of success, plenty of challenges and the occasional failure. I have built on these experiences to spur me on to greater things. I am learning every day on my path to be the best that I can be.
My career so far has been varied. After university I worked first in child care and then medical research. My big break was becoming Training Manager for an airline. Since my thirties I have run my own learning & development consultancy, concentrating on leadership & management, change, personal success and communication. Away from work I volunteer for a youth organisation and am a charity trustee.

My offer to you
People tell me I am driven. What drives me are my principles and my personality. My principles were shaped by Scouting and its core values of kindness, respect, tolerance, honesty, integrity and service. It is a modern, growing and thriving organisation which offers young people the skills they need for life. Adults too have so many opportunities for development through Scouting. I was born into Scouting (my parents met at a Scouting event) and I have been a member since around my eighth birthday. Having progressed through the various youth sections to become a Queen’s Scout I then began my adult service. I have held senior leadership roles at local, regional and national levels majoring in youth sections, in adult training, community development and now in fund raising and governance.
Scouting gave me my moral code and Freemasonry has polished it for adult life. I became a Freemason at the age of thirty-one after a great deal of research and thought. Freemasonry has been much misunderstood but thankfully is now, once again, becoming a visible and respected part of our communities. It promotes exactly the same core values as Scouting and, like Scouting, brings together principled people of all faiths, political views, countries of origin and socio-economic backgrounds based on what we have in common rather than what divides us. It is concerned with improving self-knowledge and helping us to become better people.
As to my personality, I am an extravert, outgoing, enthusiastic, sociable and sometimes a little larger than life. I am also goal focused, imaginative and quick to act. I like to get things done. I have learned to temper my own impetuosity to make sure I am tuned in with the people I am working with. As a result I have become a champion of collaboration and consensus. This has been a great benefit in my work as a corporate facilitator and coach.
My purpose and passion in life is to improve not just myself but to help others to be the best they can be.
